We all get used some point in time. And for the most part all of us never stop being used. When I say “used” I don’t mean ABused, I mean just used for whatever we have to offer to whoever needs it. Teachers, brothers, employees, children, etc. But there are times when we’re used to benefit someone else and we’re the only one out of the give-n-take relationship that’s gettin’ got.

I’ve been used before. I got got before and I didn’t even know it until it was over. Shit sucks right down to the bottom of your feet. But I’d say I’m a better person for it and I can see that I was supposed to have gone through it. Now it’s easy to say but I’m 100% sure at the time I couldn’t see it, and what I could see I wouldn’t believe.

My life is young though, so who knows, it may happen again. I hope not. But you never know what may happen down the road.

…this all sounded better in my head…now not so much. Aight, I’m gunna leave you with this. It’s something I thought up today for no apparent reason but it fits my frame of mind right now.

I have never lost anything I was supposed to have.

I realize I haven’t given you guys any creative pieces in a while and since that’s big part of my purpose here I’m gunna give you a couple things. I did a workshop with Trey Anthony, ummm, end of last year and it was nothing short of amazing. I literally walked out of there after the weekend was over and felt completely inspired and rejuvenated about the directions I was heading. The things that I was able to walk out with was phenomenal and it truly just sparked a part of me that I hadn’t gone to as openly as before. 

So with that being said here are a couple pieces I wrote during that class.

These ones are from the lead-in sentences she gave us and made us finish under a minute (I think). Highlighted is the lead in sentence and the rest is what came to me after reading it.

We laughed so hard when Trey gave us this line. Ngozi just finished talking about abortion. Nothing is funny after that!

It was funny when Ngozi told me farts make her laugh.

The joke was terrible. I never wrote funny stuff in my life.

Her hands reminded me of tears never shed. After her ring finger was almost cut clean off it never moved with the same strength and intensity. She lost the ability to wrap her fingers around the flour she needed to kneed. 

He left me for a crack pipe and two prostitutes. He sold all our memories to serve the next fix without a question as to what I wanted.

New CREAM World articlessss to work on (can’t say who I interviewed just yet tho), an interview with a LLegendary man on Weds for a dope upcoming website, freelancing with Suite 101 (hopefully), and a Mastermind Warrior’s Workshop with Trey Anthony. They last one will probably be the most challenging because it’s going to require me to dig deeper than I have to for some of the profile pieces I do. Also it’s a no-fucking-around commitment over the course of five weeks. Damn-good. 

It’s a writer’s world. And I’m down for the challenge. I’ll let ya’ll know how it all turns out. For sure!

Ah yes, it’s Friday. But not just any Friday. THIS Friday is the official end of my job at a major Canadian phone company. Leading up to this day I had no idea what I was gunna do. We all gotta eat right? Write. And so I am. More. I was tempted to transfer to another store but fack I’m so burnt out from their bullshit that it’s best that I leave. Yuh know?

Soooo tonight my co-workers will be at Shuffle partying the night away! And I luvvv it.

If you wanna come through I promise you won’t be disappointed.

He’s mine. And he’s divine. On a human level, the most for real for real person I’ve ever met. If you know this man then you’re really lucky. This dude right here puts on for his city in one of the biggest ways possible. He’s an elementary school teacher, which at his age means much more than that to the kids he’s around. 

Like I’ve said before, Sagittarius boys are dope boys. Fresh, with extraordinary swag.

Women can take all the self-defense classes they want, but the best defense is getting into a mind frame that gives you the OK to leave an abusive situation. I’ve learned that nothing you really want ever comes easy and that applies heavily to your own safety. You can learn to land a good punch, or get out of a choke hold but once freed, then what? While I understand how empowering it must feel for a woman to take down a man, the bottom line is safety comes with distance. The earlier you recognize how abusive a person is the better chance you have of leaving once and for all. No woman on this earth can ever change a man’s behaviour. Everyone learns to do that on their own. Everyone.

So ladies, please, put yourself first. However hard it is and however long it takes please find a way.
