I realize I haven’t given you guys any creative pieces in a while and since that’s big part of my purpose here I’m gunna give you a couple things. I did a workshop with Trey Anthony, ummm, end of last year and it was nothing short of amazing. I literally walked out of there after the weekend was over and felt completely inspired and rejuvenated about the directions I was heading. The things that I was able to walk out with was phenomenal and it truly just sparked a part of me that I hadn’t gone to as openly as before. 

So with that being said here are a couple pieces I wrote during that class.

These ones are from the lead-in sentences she gave us and made us finish under a minute (I think). Highlighted is the lead in sentence and the rest is what came to me after reading it.

We laughed so hard when Trey gave us this line. Ngozi just finished talking about abortion. Nothing is funny after that!

It was funny when Ngozi told me farts make her laugh.

The joke was terrible. I never wrote funny stuff in my life.

Her hands reminded me of tears never shed. After her ring finger was almost cut clean off it never moved with the same strength and intensity. She lost the ability to wrap her fingers around the flour she needed to kneed. 

He left me for a crack pipe and two prostitutes. He sold all our memories to serve the next fix without a question as to what I wanted.
